C. Raymond Hunt Associates was founded in 1961 as a partnership between Ray Hunt and John Deknatel, the current President of the firm. This association was originally formed to deal with the heavy flow of projects that resulted from the extraordinary performance of Ray Hunt's designs.

C. Raymond Hunt was an internationally known and respected helmsman and yacht designer, designing both sailboats and powerboats which won international championships and skippering boats of his own design to world championships.
Hunt Deep-V The Hunt Deep-V
Conceived and patented by C. Raymond Hunt in 1963, the high-deadrise, or deep-V, hull is proven and accepted as the ultimate hullform for speed with comfort and safety in rough water. Even today, his original deadrise angle remains proven as the optimum.

The staff at C. Raymond Hunt Associates is led by John Deknatel, President, and Winn Willard, Vice President. The five designers, ranging from 10 to 35+ years of service with Hunt Associates, are well-educated and experienced in naval architecture and design and work to apply the deep-V concept to a wide range of vessels from 10 to 120 feet.
